Three Bagatelles were composed for English Hornist MichelleWong in 2023, after she and composer Edgar Girtain came into contact via a performance of his Suite for Flute, Oboe, and Clarinet in Buenos Aires.The first movement is conversational and explores different characters of both instruments.The Largo is both introspective with an anxious inner section, and the final movement is a frenetic rondo.
